I started this trip with great fear of white water and ended feeling extremely comfortable because of the quality guides. The food was excellent and I am still amazed at the quality of food that was served while "camping". If this is camping I am all for it. Out high expectations were exceeded by wide margins. As a teenager about to head off to college, not looking forward to 1) spending a week in the wilderness, where I might be drowned in river rapids/burned by forest fires/eaten by something or 2) spend a week in the wilderness with (horrors) MY FAMILY, I went into my six-day trip on the Main Fork with extremely low hopes. I am definitely not an outdoorsy person, and was quite honestly dreading the entire affair. This turned out to be one of the greatest vacations I have ever been on (yes, right up there with Hawaii and Disneyworld). We had an amazing set of guides--they were all helpful, energetic, full of stories and jokes, and extremely encouraging. And, honestly, they pampered us half to death: the food was great, we didn't have to set up our own tents, they always had fun (though sometimes embarrassing) activities for us to do, and all we had to worry about was having a great time. As the only person with any camping experience in my family, I was wondering how we'd ever survive, but we were so busy having fun we could hardly believe it when the week was over! I highly recommend this trip to families, couples, people looking for adventure, people NOT looking for adventure, it's simply one of the best decisions you'll ever make. You'll have an amazing time on a Mackay trip. Guaranteed.

Ive never been so spoiled in my whole life. great wine great food tent set up evryday and the MOST stunning canyons and beautiful scenery around. Idaho 's Salmon river is a paradise and Mackey's people are wonderful. I love Kacey in particular..er.... not that anything happend...im mean we just went for a walk and then fell asleep along that creek bed..Come on guys please..... Stone

Having just returned from the coldest, rainiest August week on the Main Salmon in 15 years, I have nothing but great memories. The Mackay staff went "above and beyond" to compensate for the weather -- flying in wetsuits, treating us to dinner at the end of the trip, and surprising us with terrific "I survived" t-shirts back at the hotel. And through the rain and the cold (and even the hail!) our guides smiled, rowed, cooked, laughed, and kept our spirits high. This was a fantastic week -- we'll be back soon to see if it can possibly be better if we're warm and dry!

this was the best trip ive ever been on! it was soo much fun and I learned a lot about rafting on this trip. its especially fun for the kids, im 15, and it was amazing to just be able to get to know the other kids and their familes. its honestly one of the best family trips i can think of! definetly go! plus, ALL the guides are totally great! :)
