Backcountry Air Charter Round Trip from Boise, Idaho - If you choose to travel to Boise, Idaho via a major airline, you will find our office located conveniently next to the Boise Air Terminal. We suggest the travel date for your excursion be the day before your launch date. For guests flying into Boise we recommend our BOISE PRE TRIP LODGING AND ROUND TRIP FLIGHT PACKAGE. This package includes one night lodging in Boise, a detailed orientation with hors d'oeuvres the evening before the start of your trip and Round Trip flights from Boise to the river and from the river back to Boise. This package also includes all transportation between the Boise Airport and your prearranged lodging in Boise. This package is $375.00 per person.

Limited road access is available to some launch sites and take outs, however some trips begin or end inside the roadless "River of No Return Wilderness." Trips beginning or ending in a roadless area require a one way flight. Airfares vary so call for current quote.

Ground Transportation - If you are not traveling through Boise, you will receive a written orientation upon arrival in Salmon or Stanley the day before your expedition begins. Round trip ground transportation is provided from Stanley at no additional charge on all Middle Fork 6 day 5 night expeditions launching from Boundary Creek. Trips launching from Indian Creek require a one way flight. Ground transportation is also provided from Salmon to the Launch site on the Main Salmon trips and from the take out to McCall, Idaho. On our 5 day 4 night trips a one way flight from the Main Salmon will be necessary at your trips end.

The roads we travel are often rough and dusty and travel times can be a significant factor. All the ground shuttles for each river are listed below with approximate travel times.

Middle Fork

Stanley, Idaho to Boundary Creek put-in - 2 hours
Middle Fork take-out to Stanley, Idaho - 6 hours
Middle Fork take-out to Salmon, Idaho - 2.5 hours

Main Salmon

Salmon, Idaho to the Main Salmon put-in - 2.5 hours
Main Salmon take-out to McCall, Idaho - 3 hours
Main Salmon take-out to Boise, Idaho - 6 hours

How to find us - We realize travel can sometimes be a real challenge and that is why we have made every effort to make getting to your Mackay vacation simple and painless.

Our headquarters are located near the Boise Airport's main terminal. Upon arriving in Boise, the motel will shuttle you to your reserved hotel room. The evening prior to your trip you will be given an introductory orientation right at your hotel, preparing you for one of the greatest adventure vacations ever.

Our air charter service will fly you to and from your adventure. This allows you to sightsee the spectacular Idaho wilderness from the air - a thrill in itself. Though most wilderness destinations are accessible only by air, some have road access. We will arrange ground transportation by special request and we can accommodate requests to originate from locations other than Boise. Please call for details.

If you are driving to Boise, we provide free, secured parking for your vehicle. We also have ample secure storage for any luggage you will not need on your remote wilderness adventure.
