EXCELLENT GUIDES

Mackay prides itself on the quality of our professional river guides. They are experienced and anxious to share Idaho's spectacular river canyons with each guest. Mackay guides will entertain you as they escort you safely down the river. In addition, they will set up a comfortable camp (including your tent), prepare breakfast, lunch, a 5 star dinner with dessert and share stories, music and games around the amp fire. Mackay's guides are truly the backbone of a quality river adventure and continually exceed our guests' expectations.

SAFETY

Mackay's number one priority is safety! Our professional guides are boatmen with the experience and knowledge to get you safely down river. All are trained in advanced first aid and CPR. Mackay has at least one Emergency Medical Technician on each trip. In addition we carry satellite phones, heart defibrillators, full trauma kits and each guide carries an "ouch" kit. Mackay's guides are experienced in the use of all emergency medical equipment and trained in emergency evacuation procedures.

GREAT FOOD AND COMFORTABLE CAMPS

Wilderness camps (including your tent) are set up and taken down by the Mackay guides. Each camp includes a hot shower and private wilderness restroom. Guests sit at dining tables to eat and drink. All food is meticulously prepared over an open fire, in Dutch ovens and in our sanitary wilderness kitchen. Mackay guides are experienced cooks and knowledgeable of proper food handling techniques. We are always willing to adjust our menu to accommodate special dietary requirements.

TOP NOTCH EQUIPMENT

Mackay diligently maintains all of our equipment and regularly replace equipment as needed. Each guest is provided with two large dry bags for their personal items. Tents are roomy 4-person 4 season tents for couples and 3 person tents for singles. Tents and lifejackets are laundered, inspected and repaired or replaced regularly during the season. Each guest is provided with a sleep set-up. Sleep set-ups include a freshly laundered sleeping bag, pillow and self-inflating sleeping pad. Mackay provides everything you need for your adventure except your personal clothes and toiletries.

MACKAY KID WRANGLER

Elementary and Middle School teachers join each of our family trips to guarantee the kids have the time of their lives. Teaching has provided each Kid Wrangler with the skills to bring all the kids into the fold, so no one is left out. The Kid Wrangler facilitates organized games and activities from hiking to preparing a Dutch oven dessert. On a Mackay Family Adventure, kids have fun!
